There are some people who love art but hate visiting formal art galleries, and there are creative people whose talents are hidden behind their day jobs and are eager to show the community their artwork. Two friends, Nolin and Sean, felt that there had be a way to bring these two types of people together. In 2002, they formed a non-profit organization called "Circus Project", and decided to hold their first art gallery show, "TIO", (swedish word meaning the number ten) in a pub, showcasing ten different artists' works.
I was responsible for the promotion artwork for TIO. For the artwork for the poster, I drew 10 different orbs to represent the artists - they all looked whimsical on their own, but when grouped together as a collection, the effect and contrast were magnified.
The event was a success - the pub was packed, and each artist finally had the opportunity to showcase their work including oil paintings, absrtract art montages, water color prints, photographs, and even reading his poem in rap style to the public.
