Near the end of 2000, Gametronics had to have nine horse racing bellyglasses designed and printed immediately. Three different designers received three glasses to work on and I was one of them. True to my style, the art director had a difficult time approving my designs - she thought that North Americans would not appreciate cartoon style graphics for gambling machines. To her displeaser, the bellyglasses still went to printing because they needed them done immediately. In retrospect, I think both me and the art director did not do our homework - I should have asked her for the vision she had for the glasses and she should have contacted the right person for the right job and the right style.
