E-mail spamming is one of the most hated crimes on the Internet, and doing promotions via e-mail is like walking a thin line between annoying your potential customers and hitting the target audience on the bull's eye.
Internet service providers such as AOL filter any e-mails that look suspicious (recipient's name missing, lots of graphics, HTML page embedded, etc) to protect users from being spammed, and registered players who use such ISPs will not receive special promotions.
Nevertheless, a typical e-mail promotion is first designed as a HTML web-page, which allows the viewer to click on it and be taken to the destined website. Graphics are compressed greatly to reduce download time. The page is then embedded in an e-mail message and sent to the recipients who are listed in the database.
