The font used for the word "Circus" was commonly used in vintage circus posters, but the font used for the word "Project" was a fairly modern san-serif, combined together giving them a good contrast between the two styles. The ring and the star tie the texts together making it look like a badge.

Tio was Circus Project's first gig, a gallery show held at a local pub. It featured the works of ten non-professional artists. The logo was designed to look unpolished, to assosicate with the rustic works of the artists. The letter 10 overlayed on top of the word TIO resembles a poster glued on top on a billboard.
