Why Magic Ketchup?

MK was originally an online children's game concept. Secret recipes of strange dishes are lost, and people can only remember what they taste like. To help recover the recipes, the player cooks with crazy ingredients, and the dish is judged. Of course, to make failures edible, you will need...

Is this a company website or a personal website?

A little bit of both. Magic Ketchup was purely my personal website, but in 2005 I registered Magic Ketchup as my company name as I went from a full-time employee to a full-time contractor. The writing of this website stays as "neutral" or "company tone" as possible.

Did you do all these graphics / programming / websites / animation all by yourself?

Of course not! But I did nearly all the graphics, planning, design, HTML by myself. I didn't program the games you see here, nor did I make e-commerce or database driven websites. I give proper credits to work shown on this website that is not done by me. If you have browse through my website you can probably tell which part has been done by me.

Reader's Comments

"I really enjoyed your site. I didn't really have time to "pleasure-surf" tonight, but I couldn't help myself when I landed on your page. I went through every page on your site and must tell you that I think your talents are wasted on video games. 8^) Keep up the good work and thanks for a truly entertaining and unique site."

I just stumbled across your website (while looking for the actor Victor Wong) and was bowled over by you artwork. I publish a newspaper / magazine for teenagers in Puerto Rico and know that they would love to see your work. Our publication reaches nearly 100,000 teens on the island and I'm sure many of them would be inspired.

"Your work seems quite original. I worked in the old underground press for a number of years (Robert Crumb, Gilbert Shelton and the rest) and learned to tell the difference. Good luck."

I don't know what kind of mind-altering substances you are experimenting with, but they're probably illegal in Canada and the States. I'm just kidding. I like your graphics.

Mike Konold, 1997

"Someday, critics will say "and typical of the Wong technique, highly-polished graphics produce a smooth innocence, reminiscent of an urbanized Gauguin, underwhich lurk a much darker symbology". You can use that, free of charge.

Emily Coates, 1997

I like the characters and style. It is almost folk art-ish. When I get my home page up and going, I just want to let you know that I will be putting your site into my favorite links. This way you are sure to get more email. I like email too, it never contains bills.
