Victor Wong’s Bio

Victor Wong grew up in Hong Kong watching too many Japanese cartoons and Sesame Street, and playing too many video games. He moved to Canada in 1990 to study and now he specializes in game design and light-hearted/whimsical illustrations.

Throughout Victor Wong’s creative career, he has worked for companies coming from a broad spectrum of industries – casinos, airline games, online bingo sites, financial processing firms, software companies, video game developers and much more. His graphic style is versatile; it can be quirky, humorous and cute, but with a flip of a switch, he can also do serious corporate slick designs.

With over 10 years of working experience, he combines the skill of a web designer, an illustrator, a graphic designer, a game and user interface designer and an art director.

He is also the creator and illustrator of the well-received web comic, Chloroville.

FAQ

Why Magic Ketchup?
MK was originally an online children’s game concept. Secret recipes of strange dishes are lost, and people can only remember what they taste like. To help recover the recipes, the player cooks with crazy ingredients, and the dish is judged. Of course, to make failures edible, you will need…

Is this a company website or a personal website?
A little bit of both. Magic Ketchup was purely my personal website, but in 2005 I registered Magic Ketchup as my company name as I went from a full-time employee to a full-time contractor. The writing of this website stays as “neutral” or “company tone” as possible.

Did you do all these graphics / programming / websites / animation all by yourself?

Of course not! But I did nearly all the graphics, planning, design, HTML by myself. I didn’t program the games you see here, nor did I make e-commerce or database driven websites. I give proper credits to work shown on this website that is not done by me. If you have browse through my website you can probably tell which part has been done by me.
